Many Local 506 members will qualify for that amount – However, those workers who have been laid off, on disability, or who simply had low earnings in their qualifying quarters may want to review their payroll records. To receive the maximum benefit, you would have had to earn $13,413.00 or more in your “qualifying” high quarter and at least $21,480.00 in the base year.

RE: 2008 Maximum Rate for Workers Compensation

Effective: January 1, 2008

The weekly maximum for workers injured on or after January 1, 2008 will increase from $779.00 a week to $807.00.

*Note: You must be eligible for the maximum rate to qualify for the $807.00. If your Average Weekly Wage (as determined by the State) is $1,210.50 or more, you will qualify for the maximum rate. Many Local 506 members will qualify for this new rate, however those workers who have been laid off or on disability in the months leading up to the compensable injury or illness will, more than likely, have a lower benefit.

- Thank you former Governor Tom Ridge.
